As a familiar and trusted face in both Alberta’s Legislature and the Parliament of Canada, Charlie has a deep understanding of government mechanics, major project management, and strategic communications at both the national and provincial level.

Before joining New West Public Affairs, Charlie served as the Director of Operations in Premier Jason Kenney’s Office. Charlie has extensive experience overseeing functional communications planning, executive stakeholder meetings, major national and international mission planning, legislative proceedings, Executive Council functions, campaign management, and the spearheading of major internal and external announcements. In this role, Charlie worked closely with various department heads, other levels of government, and key stakeholders. 

Prior to his role in the Premier’s Office, Charlie got his start in Ottawa in the office of then-Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, the Honourable Andrew Scheer. During his time in the Opposition Leader’s Office, Charlie was the youngest member of the Leader’s senior staff team, holding roles as the Ontario Regional Advisor & Caucus Liaison, Executive Assistant to the Leader, and Stakeholder Relations Advisor. Charlie specialized in stakeholder engagement, coordinating effective media relations, image crafting, structural organization, advising on the Leader’s duties in the House of Commons, and facilitating political missions across Canada.

Born and raised in Caledonia, Ontario, Charlie earned his Bachelor of Arts from Wilfrid Laurier University studying political science and philosophy.

Frequently in Ontario and British Columbia, Charlie maintains close relationships with his former colleagues now working in various governments, non-profits, and corporations. Based in Calgary, Charlie continues to be involved in political campaigns of all levels.
