Prior to joining New West Public Affairs, Gordon was the sole proprietor of GOA Inc, an Alberta based communications, government relations and issues management business.

Gordon also served for seventeen years as a senior official with the Government of Alberta including eight years as senior policy adviser to Premier Ralph Klein. While in government, Gordon participated in a wide range of initiatives within the area of federal and intergovernmental relations. He was Executive Director of Alberta House in Ottawa and served also as the Executive Director of the Southern Alberta Office of the Premier. This range of experience provided valuable knowledge on how federal and provincial governments work. It has also given Gordon a unique, hands-on education in Alberta’s political environment as well as the province’s public, business and social sectors.

Gordon serves on the Board of Directors of the Calgary Saddledome Foundation and the Alberta Champions Society. He is immediate Past-Chair of the Calgary Zoo Board of Trustees. Gordon is a recipient of the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal and the Alberta Centennial Medal.
